I have injured the forearm muscles of my right picking arm. It is not serious according to the physiotherapist I saw yesterday, as she said muscular sprains (which this is) take much quicker to heal than tendon pain. The muscles are tight and a bit painful. I played a gig last night, and it wasn't too bad, but it did make my playing less fluid.
Do any of you guys ever get this problem? If so, how do you deal with it? |

I found that playing with the rear of the guitar too high can really irritate the muscles and lead to cramping and pinching _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

While watching the tele or otherwise unocupied, put a heating pad or a hot water bottle on the sore muscle. When the water bottle is cool, or after 1/2 hour, put an ice pack on the muscle for the same amount of time. Repeat as necessary.
When you play, as Lane mentioned, make sure your wrists are as straight as possible, and your elbows are at a 90 degree angle. You may have to adjust the height of your seat or the angle of the back rest, if you have one. _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |
