Like you Paddy we are really looking forward to our annual trip and catching up with all the great folks at the Brisbane Steel Guitar Festival. I know Jeff and the committee have worked very hard to put on another great weekend for us all.
I Just confirmed our Friday night flight with Virgin and our favorite Chermside Green Motel room this afternoon.
Allen, I wouldn't like to park where that little white car is. Years ago, my wife bought a woolen wall hanging from " inside " that sheep. By the way, I am very disappointed that you are not playing for us on the show this year.

Hi guys, yes we're getting very close now & I hope everyone has a great trip to the Sunshine state.
I'm looking forward to relaxing & just enjoying the show this year - but I will play at the social day on Sunday.
Also have a "new" surprise piece of kit to show off!
Yes, I've been spending my money recklessly again.
PS. There's NO truth in the rumour that Paddy has booked a double extension ladder on the plane!
See ya'll soon! |

Allen I like the "mostly sunny" for the three days I'm there ... because it's mostly bldi cold, overcast and wet here at the moment -- with a bit of snow on the higher bits _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Hi all, I just want to say thanks to all our performers at the festival & social day.
What a great show it was & many thanks for supporting the Brisbane Steel Club.
Congrats also to Jeff Spencer & his helpers for all their hard work bringing the show to us.
The prize for farthest travelled goes to Ted Nesbitt, all the way from Ireland, who thrilled us with his playing on both days. Hope to see you again Ted.
We were certainly spoilt for choice with players, so much so that on one occasion, two steelers had to share one guitar. i.e. Bob Alloway (Aus) & Paddy Long (NZ) I thought they were going to have to "get a room"
You have to watch out for those lonely coal miners Paddy!
Anyhow, thanks everybody & I'm sure someone will be along & hopefully post some pix of the event. Cheers, Allen. |

We certainly had a great weekend catching up with all our friends again in Brisbane. A big "thank you" from us as well to Jeff and all the committee for the brilliant job they did.
Looked a bit like the United Nations with people from far and wide.
I reckon that's one of the things that Steel Guitar does best, is unite us all.
Nice to know everyone made it home safely. I'm already looking forward to next years festival, God willing? _________________ Mullen SD10G2 4x5 (Black), Carter S-10 3x5, Peavey Session 400, Peavey Nashville 112, Fender MS80, Boss DD3, Goodrich and Telonics volume pedals, Alesis QuadraVerb, Fender Strats x2, Fender Nashville Power Tele, Takamine NP-15C, Boss TU-12, Peterson VS-11, Strobo-flip and strobo-clip tuners, D2Fcovers,seat,legs, amps, guitars. |

Paddy, I thought there was a 'bum' note in there! then I realised that vertical lever was being activated We really do value the efforts you guys have to go to get to Brissy. We know its not cheap or easy with steel guitars in the pack!
