Now that I have my old Fender 1000 up and playable, I would like to try to obtain lesson material for double 8s. Any help is greatly apreciated.

Assuming you mean E9 and C6.

E9, I doubt you will find any. Most everything is written for 10 string tunings (except non-pedal courses). You can use the 10 string courses and figure out other ways to get the notes or chords that are using the 2 strings you don't have, or leave that note out of the chord. I don't know what 2 strings you eliminated, but if it were me, I would have eliminated the 2 bottom strings and kept the 2 top one's in place. That is what I did when I first started playing using a triple neck 8 string National.
