The August edition of the recorded continuous airing of "Swingin' West" is up on the Internet on twangtownusa.com. It will be on 24 hours a day seven days a week over and over, for the entire month.

The theme for this month, August, is a tribute to Steel Guitar great Herb Remington. You will hear Herb with Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys as well as with so many of the Western Swing greats of the past and present. Enjoy the legendary National Band of Texas, the River Road Boys and many of their great musicians such as Clyde Brewer and Bill Dessens on other recordings with Herb. You can enjoy Herb with his son Mark, Rick Alexander and Bob Wills’ Texas Playgirls. We can also enjoy former Texas Playboys Johnny Cuviello with Herb and Rod Moag, Bill Choate, Lloyd Taylor and the great Leon Rausch. Among others that we can again enjoy with Herb are the late Jimmy Day, Austria’s Route 66, Jim Gough and Cindy Cashdollar.

The recorded edition of "Swingin' West" can always be heard by clicking the mouse on the appropriate spot on the bottom of the home page of the "Swingin' West" web site www.swinginwest.com

Thank You!

Don,

Thanks for the bump for today's live "Swingin' West." Among other things the theme will be a salute to the 2006 Western Swing Hall of Fame Inductees in Sacramento next month, including a set of Hall of Fame inductee, Steel legend Roy Ayres. Also, today's Steel Guitarist spotlight set will be on Northeast Steel Guitar and PSGA favorite, Jeff DeMaio.

What a great recorded show! And I'm not just saying that because I'm in it - there is a lot of wonderful steel work by Herb Remington from various phases of his extensive career.

And I'm listening to the regular Swingin West show right now - thanks Mike!

Hi Mike. Herb Remington is everybodys favotite swing player. Bob Wills had a lot of good steel players during his career, and I am of the opinion that during Herb's tenure, was Bob's most productive years. Thanks Mike for carrying on the tradition. Jody.
