OK, I don't know if this is the right place to post this project so correct me if it should be in another topic area.
Some of the forum member may recall that I produced high performance yo yo's and have custom imprinted many different designs over the years. I dug out some yo yo halfs that were left over and recessed them into a Telecaster body and refinished the neck with my own Yo Caster label.
I'll name the yo yo's embedded into the body:
1. Red Sox (always a fan and so was my dad)
2. 1957 Borgward (my antique car)
3. Massachusetts state seal (gold on blue body)
4. Micky Mouse (Disney)
5. New England Patriots
6. Gold Plated custom Yomega yo-yo
Will put neck on and restring next week. This Tele sounded good and the yo yo
halfs will not get in the way as I carefully put them in place using another Tele for placement of the parts.
So, do I have too much time on my hands or did I create a one of a kind custom guitar?

When you string it up the first tune you should play is "Walking the Dog". |

There is not a Duncan yo yo on that guitar All Yomega product on that baby.
BTW, yo yo play hs been elevated to almost an Olympic sport. Get on youtube antd do a search on "throwing Yomega" or Yomega yo yo's and see what these young kids can do with a yo yo. Very impressive!

Very cool tribute, Len. A squareneck model would be cool, too. Maybe you could run a contest to name it...yo-yo based theme, of course. _________________ Clinesmith consoles D-8/6 5 pedal, D-8 3 pedal & A25 Frypan, Pettingill Teardrop, & P8 Deluxe. |

Joey......you really missed your calling as I thought I heard every yo yo joke over the last 30 years but that was a corker.
Also, will put a set of .009-.042 Boomers on the guitar.

All kidding aside, I have projects in the pipeline and they keep me occupied in a positive direction. When the Yo caster gets together I will show you a picture of the back.

I'm having a little trouble here understanding this concept...so is this instrument made to fall and rise to the hand by unwinding and rewinding the string, or is it a musical instrument with a large flat backed sound box that plays "around the world"? and it plucked with a pick or reeled to the hand? |

What goes down, must come up! That's my company motto. What could be better, playing with yo yo's, guitars and steel guitars as an adult?
This guitar will be on display at a local music store when completed and then hung on the wall of my studio. A conversation piece that actually plays nice.

The one of a kind Yo Caster is completed a strung and setup with a set .009 GHS Boomers and sounds like a Tele should and the yo yo half placement is such that they are not in the way.
I would like to thank my friend Ian Russel for a second set of hands for all the drilling and compensating it took to pull off this project. Most of all, here is a picture of the back of the guitar in memory of my mom & dad who knew their son was a bit different than other people but supported me in any and all efforts no matter how crazy it may have seemed at the time.
Someday, I may write a book on how an idea started from scratch and ended up producing high performance yo yo's with world wide distribution.
