Stonewall Jackson sounded strong on The Marty Stuart Show last night. He sang right on key. He's still got it, and he must be in his 80's. Nice to hear real country music from a master country singer. The Superlatives did a great job playing his hits. Thanks for having him on Marty!

Well, I for one, was delighted to see the ole boy is still making music! He looked like he was truly enjoying himself too. Yeah, as Kevin said, thanks, Marty!

Yes, Kevin, Stonewall is 80. He is an entertainer I have come to appreciate more over the years for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was his successful lawsuit against the GOO over age discrimination. Somewhere in my (sordid) past I recall backing him up a few times and he is the real deal.

You know these cardboard stand-up temporary singers coming out of a video today are empty. You hear Stonewall Jackson sing and you can feel it in your bones. These Nashville temporaries retire to their homes and count their money and Pride, Haggard , and the real country singers like Stonewall Jackson are still out there doing real country music. They couldn't carry Pride or Jackson's microphone. I'd buy a ticket for Stonewall Jackson anytine. Good going Stonewall. We love you.

I Hear ya', Kevin. His voice ranks up there with Faron, Price, Paycheck and Jones, not to mention, Wynn Stewart, Johnny Bush, Carl Butler and Warren Smith and many, many others - All of 'em, great voices. Cool

I'm proud to say I play in a band that does nothing but classic honky tonk, including vintage Stonewall Jackson. This past Saturday night we played two of Stonewall's tunes. They were "Blues Plus Booze", from his 1966 album All's Fair In Love 'n War and "If Heartaches Were Wine (I'd Be Drunk All TheTime)" from his 1968 album Nothing Takes The Place Of Loving You.

Keep on pickin'!
Glenn

Stonewall is one of my favorite country singers. I grew up in Birmingham, Al and in the 60's, his song "Don't Be Angry" was on every juke box in town for a lot of years.
Keep on singing Stonewall. We love you.

Hey Glenn,
What's the name of your band? Do you have anything posted on Youtube?

Once back in the 1960's Stonewall was a guest on our tv show and dance. During the ride with me from the promotional tv appearance to the club, we shared a 1/2 pint of Four-Roses while we discussed and agreed on the intro's to his songs.

He was a straight-up guy and easy to work with.
