i haven't seen this on here yet, but, i'd like to make it known....
i was listening to one of the week nite grand ole opry's last week and a new country singer was on with his country rock songs, but, he introduced his new steel player that he hired from an internet search for a steel player looking for work. he had just hired the guy and his first gig was the opry!
i didn't catch the name of the steeler and wasn't impressed with the singer, untill he said that...,
a bit nervous, but on stage at the opry.
but i do wish them the best of luck.
what a first gig, great work steeler!
did anyone else catch this?
country......

I view this as a new twist on the age-old joke:

"How do you get to the (Opry?) Practice, practice, practice."

Oh well, so much for that...

I didn't see/hear the performance so I can't comment on how much the steeler practiced (or didn't,) however, he seems to be proficient at networking, which in this case was all he needed..
