Love Sez's playing - his approach to C6 is quite enriching
he uses hip 4 note grips
his C6 copedent is pretty standard
Emmons P4 to P8
Sez added P9 which is a duplicate P6 that facilitates using his right foot w: the right knee levers
LKL raises E > F on 6
LKV raises D > D#/Eb on 1 & C > C# on 10
LKR raises G > G# on 5
RKL raises A > Bb on 4 & 8
RKR lowers C > B on 3
splits :
P5/LKR : G on 5
P6/LKL : E on 6
P5/P8 : F on 9
P5/LKV : C# on 10 ? |

Thanks, Crowbear for posting>
Correction to Crowbear's post.
P8 lowers C to A on 10th string. 'Add' Lkv (raises C to C# on str 10), the combined effect is the lowering of string 10 by a half tone to B.
This is not a function of using the split tuning screws. It just works like this on the Emmons Legrande. The B note is slightly flat, but it is easy to compensate by pushing the heel of the bar down a little more.
P8 lowers string 9 from F to E. P5 raises string 9 from F to F#.
Both together 'cancels' the change, and the note remains at F. (Again no use of split tuning screw).
The benefit is a nice chord that I have used from time to time. (maj7#5)
Press pedals 5 & 8 together and pick strings 9, 7, 6, 4
String 7 is now sharpened by a half tone, while the other three strings remain unchanged. |
