Hi all, I'm sorry to be going for a new subject that already must have a lot of threads, but it's such a common word, "strings", that I had a hard time searching for it. And I probably only need a few answers.

I'd like to buy custom sets for my double-8, 23.5" scale guitar. I use C6 (high G) and straight E (with a high F#) and I like my strings heavy and tight. Like .014" is not tight enough for me for an E. More like .015" or .O16". This is a new steel for me so I'm still experimenting.

Who puts together custom sets? They don't have to be super custom, just a little heavier than usual. I can certainly do it with individuals myself, but it always takes so long.

thanks,
Keith C

I buy my strings from juststrings.com. You can buy single or bulk quantities of nickle, stainless and other types in a wide variety of gauges and they are reasonably priced.

Live Steel Strings will put you a set together anyway you want them and they are excellent strings.

If you download the D'Addario string charts and learn how to use them you can make up any set you want and then just order from D'Addario or several other dealers from their dropdown list of dealers.
