Selling my trusty old Evans FET 500 LV, small cab, SN 8092. I bought it new in '81 and played through it for fifteen years, mainly clubs and honky tonks, four hours a night, 4-5 nights a week. So it is a real work horse but still going strong.
Full disclosure: this amp was worked on a few times in the early years as Evans had some problems with certain driver boards and transistors. But since those parts were replaced there were no further problems. At this time, however, while it sounds great and is fully functional, it does have some hum and the volume and reverb pots are a little scratchy. These particular problems have been discussed elsewhere on this forum and are, I understand, common to these amps and are fairly easy fixes for anybody with any electronic skills, which would not include me.
Additionally, I replaced the original speaker (JBL E-130) with an Eminence Deltalite sometime around 2005. The Deltalite has a warmer, less edgy sound than the JBL and is MUCH lighter. If a person would want to go back to a JBL (not me, thank you), swapping speakers takes about fifteen minutes. I do not have the original speaker, but there are plenty of E-130s out there and they regularly sell on eBay for $75-125.
I would like $400.00 for the amp, with buyer to pay shipping or pick up in person. I will include a schematic for the amp, which I got from Darrel Stephens long ago. If the buyer finds it is not as I have described, I'll be happy to refund their money upon receipt of the amp back in the same condition, at buyer's expense. I can do PayPal and will donate to this forum if it sells.
