I play in a band (1 gig every other year for our high school reunion )that does some 60's soul and R&B. A number of songs need a horn line, however there is only me on tenor sax. Sometimes one of the 2 keyboards can help out but frequently we need both piano and organ.

I have tried to use a Digitech vocal harmonizer with limited success. It can add notes a 3rd, 5th or octave above or below, not brassy enough when you need a trumpet on top. Works OK if all that's required is a bari sax an octave below. It gets the pitch right but is a poor imitation of what goes in.

So I'm thinking, could a POG be used to get a horn line type brass sound? Used either from the sax or the Digitech output. Can one make a PSG sound brassy like a horn line? If so I could play the PSG instead.

I started using the POG2 with my trumpet and it sounds very close to a horn section. You will need an xlr to 1/4" adapter to run a mic into it. I'm not sure about the sax, but you should give it a try.
