Has anyone tried the Line 6 Pocket Pod ? I'm looking for something I can throw in my Pak a Seat to use with my NV112 and this seems to fit my price range . You get a lot more than just a delay pedal . Just wanted to see if anyone has tried it or currently using one .

I have a Pod 2.0, a Pod XT, and a Pod HD400. Don't have the Pocket Pod, but it does have the 65 Fender Blackface Twin model, which should be at least passable for steel. I use the Pod XT with either the Vibroverb or the Blackface Twin model and it sounds fairly good to me.
Bill, why do you say "terrible"? Do you dislike the Pods in general, or is there something about the Pocket Pod?

I bought it. It never worked right. It was cheeply made. I used it once and never again.
Happy to sell it to you at a good price.  |

| I use a POD XT and a POD X3. I ordered one from M/F as I was hoping to get a smaller unit. But, I couldn't get it set so it was clean and only reverb and delay. I sent it back. |

ok thx for the input . Probably just go with a Boss delay pedal . I'm looking for something that will fit easily in my pak seat .

| Bought one for six string travel. First one lasted 30 minutes. Like Jack, I can't get a good clean sound for steel or 6 string. |

For a long time-and sometimes still-I used an old Alesis Quadraverb in the FX loop and an Alesis 3630 limiter into the front of the amp(almost always a NV112 or Session 500).The Q-verb had some steel-friendly factory presets,so I just used a bypass footswitch and had it by my left foot.A little while back I started using just a Boss DD-6 in the loop.I've thought about a Pod,partly because I've seen Bob Case using one,but so far I've left the trigger on the back burner  |

| Keep in mind that the POCKET Pod is a different animal than all the other Pods. It's tiny, cheap, and has different (OK, inferior) circuitry to the other more expensive models. |

I love the pocket pod!
But first of all YOU HAVE TO PROGRAM IT!!!
Out of the box there are no clean steel guitar settings.
I had to read the "manual" and follow the instructions to create my own patches with just reverb/delay/chorus etc. I got rid of the crazy distortion... except for one or two patches for some over the top rock solos.
I made 10 steel guitar patches, and the best part is when the pod is sitting up where I can reach it, I can change volume/drive/delay and effect levels on the fly.
The tap tempo is fantastic, for rotary simulation, tremolo, etc you can match the beat of the song.
I have been gigging with it several times a week since December. and it is solidly made, very reliable. no jack trouble, The batteries don't last long, but I use the 9v adapter (Same as boss)

I did use one on our deployment to the middle east back in 2011. It was really small and easy to carry around. There's not much to it really. It will give you some basic reverb and delay, but doesn't sound great. It's okay for a small practice device. You'll get a lot more out of one of the cheap Lexicon or TC rack units. The slightly larger pod XT and X3 are considerably better if you're looking to use a pod.

If You're looking for a good COMPACT multi-FX the zoom ms50G multi-stomp, $99 and it has great amp models, reverbs, delays, comps and just about anything else You possibly need with a a 112.
