Pat Severs, another South Carolina steel player had played steel for Eddie Rabbitt and Narvel Felts in the early eighties, and in the late eighties, he joined the band Pirates Of The Mississippi. He stayed with Pirates until 1994 and started doing studio work. In 2004, he was the staff steel player in the Nashville Star tv show band. A few years later, he joined Bill Anderson's "Po Folks Band" and still tours with Bill now. He is also a fill in steel player at the Opry when Tommy White is touring with Vince Gill
