Anyone gigging with an Eleven Rack? I love my Trans Tubefex but it may need another trip to Peavey...maybe time to upgrade. |

The Elevin rack has gotten good reviews for regular guitar and recording but do not know about steel. I have a Roland GP-100 that they basically stopped making in 1995 and was referred to as the stepping stone toward the Eleven rack. The same with these Swiss Army knife units as the have several hundred programs and I use 3 or 4....go figure. |

I would be interested as well in knowing how the Eleven Rack works with a PSG. Like Len I have been using a GP-100 and these look to be very similar in nature.

I love my Eleven Rack for steel guitar. I think it sounds great for playing straight into the computer. For live performance I got very good results going direct into a large PA system and using only a floor monitor wedge to hear myself; in other words no combo amp.
I have had less success playing the Eleven Rack with my own small amp/speaker, for example trying to make the world a better place thru music at a Mexican restaurant, which may be a fool's errand, but nevertheless I think I still have to tweak my rig settings to make it sound as good thru the QSC 2-way box, or tweak again to get a great sound with the Black Widow speakers. So far I have not been willing to spend time creating a new group of rigs for the QSC, or for various Black Widow setups. Maybe soon I will.
Overall, my impression is that its amp modeling is much better than the stuff from the 1990s (Roland GP-100 or Boss GX-700, which still sound good to me). Eleven Rack lets me add just a nice little bit of dirt or grit to the sound, but chords still sound good. |
