Anyone have experience with these Electro Voice speakers? They were apparently an upgrade option from the Fender factory in Twin Reverbs for a few years back in the late 70s to early 80s. Do they sound as good as, or similar to JBLs? I've heard they are heavy.

They are EVM12L's that were branded for Fender amps as an option. I have some mixed with regular EVM12L's and they sound identical. They are the early version with the chrome dome dust covers. Later EV started using black paper domes.

Thanks for the response Michael. I guess my question really is; Would these speakers sound as good as JBLs in an Ultra-Linear Twin?

I have the EVM 15F (EVM 15L)in my Vibrosonic reverb and it sounds very good. The Vibrosonic reverb is the same ultra-linear electronics as the twin.
The sound is slightly different than a JBL, so it is a matter of taste. Both are really good, but of course a 2-12 sound is different than 1-15.
