I posted this announcement in the "Our Extended Family" section, as well.

This coming Sunday, April 21st I am participating as a 'walker' with a "CROP Hunger Walk" in my area.

Some of you may have already done a "CROP Hunger Walk", or are planning to participate in one. For those that aren't familiar, the "CROP Hunger Walk" is organized by Church World Service (CWS). http://www.cwsglobal.org/ The purpose of the walk is to bring people together, as walk-participants and/or as donors, with the goal of raising funds. These funds will go to help men, women and children in need, both locally and around the world. The CWS will use the funds exclusively for providing not only food (and a means for it's replenishment), but a means for securing clean water, medicine, education, and other forms of aid for those whom don't have sufficient amounts of these necessities to sustain themselves.

Please take a few moments to view a few YouTube links I've added. They will do a better job of showing the importance of this initiative than my words.

Providing a solution for water in Kenya:

Providing micronutrients in Kenya:

Providing for educational needs:

Fighting poverty and prejudice:

Providing aid in the aftermath of natural disasters:

As can see, the funds will pay for non-discriminatory aid. Wherever there are people in need, CWS seeks to provide these necessities. This includes your local area food banks.

I'm appealing to you, as a community of fellow steel guitar players and enthusiasts, please take a few moments to visit my CROP Hunger Walk homepage and make an (online) donation towards my walk. All major credit cards are accepted, as well as PayPal. Help CWS help the world be a better place through aid:

As I mentioned, I will be walking (I hope to make at least 8 miles). I've also donated $25. I hope you will consider a donation, too. For each donation I receive through this Forum, I will note on my CROP Hunger Walk webpage that a generous donation was made by (your name or anonymously), a member of the "Steel Guitar Forum" and the worldwide steel guitar community. Smile

Peace be within you all.
Glenn

If you haven't made a donation yet, please consider doing so. You'll be helping people the world over. Most you'll never meet, but some may be people you know. All will appreciate your contribution, as will I.

Church World Services will be accepting online donations to my home page through April 30th.

No amount is too small. Please make your contribution here:

Smile

Peace be within you.

Glenn
