Seeking info, pros, cons. One available near me, right price (I think). Just want to know if it is a "woofer" or a keeper.

Some additional info on the Walton D-10:
Is 8 / 4+ (has some vertical knees that may not be hooked up?). Also is setup Day. Anyone know how hard it would be to go back to Emmons?

This is the only one I got sent to me.

It's a pretty guitar, but set up Day, I think I'm going to pass on it, since there is no info on it, setup, etc. I would want it Emmons E9 & C6.

I had seen that link early on. I would want to see a setup sheet or manual as to how it works. Just not enough available info, considering the changes that need to be made. Bad thing is, it is a steal of a price.

I hear ya. Day to emmons isn't a crazy swap, but If I was in your shoes I would also be wanting to make sure it is a guitar that is reliable. Push pull is something I'm not sure would be a whole lot of fun to get under the hood especially if its your first pedal steel....hopefully someone will chime in with something you want to hear!

I'd take someone knowledgeable to look at it.
Or you've seen the Forum long enough: if nobody can help you, press the pedals, they should activate to the same notes reliably and return to the same notes reliably, and not be excessively stiff.
If it's a screaming deal and playable, get it even if it's pull-release or push-pull. If it plays unreliably, turn and run.

My steel teacher went with me trying out three steels that he told me not to buy. Damn, it was hard to leave those axes behind
