Well, we just finished another West Texas Steel Guitar School, and it appears the steel guitar is still alive and well. 2 full days of being immersed in the Pedal Steel....Wow, even for me and Johnny...it is exciting to share songs, licks, theory, tabs, cps, techniques, and even thought processes. Thanks to all who attended...as there would be no school without students. Also, thanks to Johnny Cox for his valuable experience, humor, and knowledge of the pedal steel. This class was unique as Johnny noticed a few bugs with a couple of the guys guitars....and well, he would stop and turn them upside down and voila....Repaired! All in All, a great weekend and looking forward to the next one.
Hope to see you at the next Steel School. Gearing up for a C6th class and another beginner/intermediate E9th.

Thanks to Larry and Johnny for the fantastic school and Larry's wife for the great food. Larry and Johnny are super pickers as well as great teachers. The handouts and CD are something I can use for a long time. They did everything possible to make sure we understood what they were teaching. I was impressed and thankful for Johnny;s words of encouragement.
I would recommend the school to anyone that wants to improve their playing. |

I really enjoyed the West Texas Steel Guitar School, Larry Tolliver and Johnny Cox for their time and and professional playing and teaching. I learned a lot of great licks , songs and new ideas. Larry made learning easy with his down home Texas personality he is also a super Steel Player. Glen Porter |
