Check in the Broken Spoke, Ginny's little longhorn, White horse, Saxon pub, Continental club.
Lots of music in Austin.
Check around because many clubs have 2-3 bands per night.
The Chronicle is free and has listings. _________________ MSA 12 String E9th/B6th Universal.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

Welcome to Texas! Friday night, 4/26 I will be playing with Steve Raby at the Cotton Club in Granger, TX, roughly 45 minutes northeast of Austin. And next week I will be with Jody Nix on Friday night (5/3) in Lubbock Tx at Dance with me club, and Saturday night on 5/4 in Lovington, New Mexico at the Rodeo again with Jody Nix. Twin fiddles and steel guitar on both of those gigs. If your around Dallas on Sunday, May 5th, I highly recommend you drop by pearls dancehall in the Fort Worth stockyards for Dickey Overbey's benefit. Several of the greatest steel players in Texas will be there playing, and some of the featured acts include Johnny Bush, Amber Digby, among a whole slew of others. Enjoy your visit Brendan! _________________ Emmons P/P's into the loudest amp I can get ahold of. No effects other than reverb. EVER!. Come catch a show and be sure and say hi! |

On our last night in Austin we saw Redd Volkaerts Haybale with the amazing Jonny Cox on steel . Heaps of great Bakersfield stuff by Buck , Wynn Stewart , and Merle plus a nice tip of the hat to George Jones .
The show before the Haybalers was the Wagoneers who were also very good .
So we are heading SW and maybe into Louisiana , very exciting ! |
