Would like an honest discussion on the Trutone vs the Humbuckers. Pros & cons please.

I found no difference.
I have a TT and an original humbucker and changed them quite a few times (7-9) on my Sierra with no noticeable sound difference or hum. I used them also with my three amps.

I have the humbucker on the machine now, and I use the front coil with a touch of treble, but as I said I can hear no difference.

I have a very slight overdrive however when I use my Hilton and Ernie Ball VPs, but that could be the amps.

Good luck!

Winking

When I first got my Zum U-12 it came with a BL 912 humbucker in it. It sounded fine (OK) on the top end, but, no matter how I adjusted my amp, the bottom strings were always muddy and dark. I had Jerry Wallace wind me a TrueTone at 19.5 K ohms and it really brightened up the bottom end with clarity and smoothed out the top end to crystal clear highs. Fortunately, I've never experienced the dredded "single coil hum" at any time. The TT single coils are very quiet and good sounding. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. The humbuckers are good too, but, tend to dampen the tone a bit to my ears.
