The year is 1957, the very first show from "Country Style USA" made by the US Armed Forces. Leo Jackson is playing lead guitar, and he copies the solo by Chet Atkins from Jims studio version from november 1956.

Jimmy Day gets a little face time. Smile

When I was five years old my father bought the family a record player for Christmas (back in 1966). It came with two albums, and one of them was called The Country Stars! The Country Hits! (on the RCA Camden record label). Reeves's version of Waiting For A Train was on that record. I wore it out. My favourite tune on that record was Chet Atkins's version of Wildwood Flower. Very Happy

"WAITING FOR A TRAIN", was written by Jimmie Rodgers Ca. 1930. This means that it was at least 25 years old by the time Jim Reeves recorded it. Smile

Jimmie Rodgers singing career was fairly short. 1927---1933.
