I finall got this 76 Push/Pull finished and back together and playing it. The guitar was in really bad shape. Paint cracked and chipped, dings and a couple gouges in the body. So, I stripped, sanded, reflocked, and if the parts were metal they were introduced to my bench buffing maching. I thought about having the parts chromed till I found out what that was going to cost. Now i just need to decide which push pull I'm going to keep. The guitar was orinally blue but faded to the brown. I'll post a couple of before pics also.

Here is a couple before pics

Also, it now has original 705 chrome pickups.
All parts that I had to replace on the guitar came straight from Emmons. Had no problem getting parts from them, whatsoever.

What's up with the first and sixth changer fingers on the front neck?

The lowering segments are not fully forward, was one of the knee levers activated when the photo was taken?

I had to take the lower spring off the first string to make it raise a whole tone and you actually adjust the first string open with the lower adjustment screw. That was something that Bobby Bowman taught me a long time ago. sometime you can't get the first string to raise all the way a whole tone unless you do that. Good catch on the sixth string though. I was making some adjustments before I took the pics and the sixth string lower rod was out of its hole because I disconnected the "Franklin" pedal pulls cause it was making the 4th pedal too stiff for my liking. All corrected now and plays like butter.

Thanks for all the comments from everyone.

Bob, I love the 705's in there. I wish I had 2 more for my 82 P/P.
They are nice, bright, clean and have that growl to them.

Beautiful restoration job Mike, and a wonderful choice of color. That has to be the right way to go when I guitar gets to that condition. I'm sure it will be a thing of beauty for years to come now.

Mike R, Mike M, Bob and Bob, and Ray thanks, glad you like it. It took long enough and am glad it's finally done. Working for the railroad sure didn't make it easy to complete this project in the amount of time that it should have taken.

Ray, you know pretty much what I went through trying to get this guitar done. You also know that I have always respected your opinions, good, bad or otherwise, so your compliment on this work really means a lot to me. Gonna have to get it down there so you can play it.

Often, I see guitars that have a cool, road-worn look that I really like. I would leave those alone and just play 'em. But this one really needed to get the works. Nice job Mike.

I agree with you Mike Nolan. This one was missing some pulls and was in pretty rough shape. Could have been played, but needed a couple of pulls added. I think I added 4 maybe 5, but the finish ws in such bad shape I decided to refinish the guitar.

Thanks for the comments Mike, as for bringing it down to play, I'm already envious just from the pics
You will surely double the score by getting it in eye sight!! But bring it on!! You and Sharon are always welcome.
