This is my first attempt at video. Its on an Alesis Video Track, which is a pocket size mosh-pit device, so no prizes for tone. You might want to turn it up.
When I was in school, Leah charted at No1 in Australia for 5 weeks in 1962. I loved it right away.
"I gotta go diving in the bay . . . but somethings wrong I cannot turn around!" I just knew his foot was in a giant clam! But no! "It was just another dream about my lost love, about Lee - ee - ah. Mighty crescendo and stop.
My favourite Roy Orbison song.

I don't know what you were shooting for but that tone is pretty ideal to my ears!!
Thanks for posting. I've been curious about the sound of your steel. It sounds "old" which to me sounds beautiful. |

I hear a rich, dreamy South Pacific Islander tone to that guitar which I like! |

Wow! Thanks for all the kind words. The Alesis Video Track makes things sound a bit tinnier than in the flesh. I worried about it a lot, until Marianna said "Stop being so neurotic and post it!"
PS I'll be looking out for John Kerr around the traps. _________________ Don't go in the water after lunch. You'll get a cramp and drown. - Mother.

Dennis, I posted some build pics on the "Favorite Steel" thread.
Earnest, sorry, no pics, but next time I go out to the Reef, I'll see if I can get one. _________________ Don't go in the water after lunch. You'll get a cramp and drown. - Mother. |

David,
Good to know that lap steel guitar is alive and well in Cairns....well done. I have visited that part of the world a few years back and have fond memories...(pic taken while at the north east coast of oz)

Thanks Kay. I know that Marina. They feed giant groupers there, at cocktail hour. The water is muddy, its like something out of The Creature From The Black Lagoon. ![Razz](images/smiles/icon_razz.gif) _________________ Don't go in the water after lunch. You'll get a cramp and drown. - Mother. |
