Barnham day & evening schedule..

Ok everybody, here is the day and evening schedule.
I did have it all timed into sections with allocated breaks for tea, food etc but after discussing it with Mark Dunn, I have decided to add no times for everything and we will try and cover off everthing below in the day, and I am hoping that as the day goes on, we get enough feedback, and suggestions from each and every one of you so that we can do the things you all want to do.

THE DAY EVENT...... £10 Entry.

Hall opens at 0900 and setup ready to go at 1000.

Steel players who are setting up will receive their goodie bag of tuitional material after setup. I would like ALL amps set up at ear level. By doing this, we will reduce the overall volume and you should be able to practice things without being too loud in the hall. If you have a headphone socket on you amp, and headphones, please bring them.

This is what we will be covering off after the introduction...

Tuning, Peterson tips, other electronic tuning tips, ear tuning tips.
Amp sound, balancing our levels, individual issues with your sound, amp, and setup.
Scales, scales with a single harmony, and a third harmony.
Labelling a dummy fretboard and how it can really help with your positioning and forward thinking when taking lead breaks.
Playing in tune, vibrato, and correct volume pedal control.
Picking, right hand positioning with pick and palm blocking, thumb,1 and 2and string grouping.
Bar pressure, playing with a metronome, or track, timing.
C6th tuition with Mark Dunn.
Sharing our information, licks, tips and tricks is a key part of any meeting like this and the more we all put into it, the more we will all get out of it.

Songs, and licks within them being covered on the day using projector and screen are, Sweet Memories, Farewell Party, Together Again, Orange Blossom Special, Help Me Make It Through The Night, Crazy Arms.

Don't panic about any of these songs, we will be going over sections that have very important licks, slides and runs.
We will all have the round robins later in the afternoon with a band.
This is all on floor level.  Any song suggestions can be made on the day.
I am hoping there may be some of you who, in the last hour of the afternoon, would play a session on your own with a backing track or with or house band.

You will all have blank tab sheets provided with pencils, erasers to make notes at anytime. Please bring your recorders, cassettes, .mp3 recorders etc as you will be allowed to record audio at any time between 1000 and 1630.

Tea and coffee and biscuits and cake is available all day.
Raffle tickets are being sold all day too. There are now prizes worth £400.

A buffet lunch will be served around 1300 and will be topped up, if necessary right through till about 5.

A licenced bar is there from around 4pm right through till 1000pm.

Please note, all floor equipment, steels, amps, cables, MUST be removed ENTIELY from the hall while tables are rearranged for the evening event, this will be around 4.00pm

THE MAIN STAGE EVENING EVENT..... £6 Entry.
Please note, those who have paid a £10 day entry are automatically included to attend the main stage event in the evening

Doors open 5.30pm.

GERRY SMITH INTRODUCES EACH MAIN STAGE ARTIST.

6.00pm to 6.30pm.
Amarillo Country Music Duo.

6.35pm to 7.00pm.
Mark Dunn

7.00pm to 7.25pm.
Bob Adams.

7.30pm to 8.00pm.
The Wrights.

8.00pm to 8.30pm.
RAFFLE BREAK.

8.30pm to 8.50pm.
John Davis.

9.00pm to 9.30pm.
Aubrey Lovejoy with the Silver Ace Band.

9.30pm to 10.15pm.
The Silver Ace with Dave West.

All artistes who are playing on the main stage evening event will be issued with MAIN STAGE ARTIST yellow wristbands on their arrival and your entry is complimentary. I have had to make the rule that any accompanying family or friends, with main stage artists must pay for entry at the day rate. There will be NO ACCESS backstage and in the stage changing area to anyone else. This is very important to remember and includes children and family members and friends.

This is going to be a busy day and night, and would urge any persons wishing to attend the evening event, get there early to get your wristbands.

This is not a concert, the hall is set up for dancing too. Each artist, once introduced by Gerry Smith and myself will be on their own, introducing their songs, and instrumentals. The mixer/amp is on stage. I will help you get your balance and volume correct at the very beginning of your set. There are NO SOUND CHECKS.... 5 minute turnarounds and go for it.

All PA and stage amplification supplied, bring your own microphones only.

Regards.
David Hartley.
