I have a 1947 Gibson BR-4 lap steel. The tuners were replaced before I got it, and one is breaking so I would like to replace them all to be like what was originally on it. Can anybody give me details of what should go on this guitar? Currently the tuner heads are like Schallers, and there are three tuners on a strip on each side. From what I see online, it looks like the tuners should be individual and have ivoroid buttons. I can do the repair job myself, but I want to make it as much like original as I can.
Here is a picture of my guitar:

By the way, this guitar has a pickup cover plate, which I have. I don't like my right hand position with it on so I took it off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kluson's, with plastic buttons. I think. I'll look at mine when I get home.

1947 BR4 tuners. The buttons were disintegrated and replaced with Ivoroid buttons from Stewmac.
The old ones were more yellow tinted and had a "dip" in the middle of the oval surfaces.

Mine, which looks just like the one in the original post, has three on a plate Kluson's with plastic bean buttons.

Well, I took the existing tuners off and I can tell that there were originally 3 individual tuners on each side, not 3 on one plate. I might end up with extra holes from the existing tuners, but I want to return it to original as much as possible.

All the BR-4s I have seen have had individual tuners without covers and with plastic buttons.

The BR-9 has the 3 on a plate Klusons (closed back)with plastic buttons.

Have you taken the tuner strip off to see if there are marks from individual tuners underneath?
