Jay let me have a look at his new book from Mel Bay: 'First Lessons Pedal steel" For the E9 tuning working with 3 pedals and 3 levers. A new approach to building chord knowledge and usage through graded exercises, with humor and a great conversational style. Includes lots of examples on accompanying CD AND DVD. Available at Amazon and other outlets, I will be recommending this to students for sure.
A great addition to the available instructional literature!

Jay is planning seminars built around his two new Mel Bay publications, First Lessons, for both 6 string lap steel and E9 chromatic pedal steel guitar. Stay tuned for the details!

I just received my copy today from Amazon, and this course is awesome in it's approach. I highly recommend it to anyone who's struggling through the infancy stage.

Ditto on what Mark said. This IS the very best I've seen yet and I do have a stack of them. The chord theory is very easy to see and understand. The DVD is in sync with the book and you can easily follow the exercises between the two. The quality of the DVD is the best I have seen. You can get this through the forum and I almost received it before I ordered it. Thanks b0b for the very quick service. This goes great with Mark Van Allen's Nashville Number System. Thanks Jay for your work and presentation........clark
