No opinions apparently to my post, so I deleted it. I decided to go with the Jersey Lightning, after finding an online coupon and getting the red one for $169.95 shipped from Musicians Friend. Sorry if I violated any kind of etiquette on the prior post. Thought there must be a reason it had almost a hundred views with no replies. |

I have had that happen too, so I don't think you should take it personally. Or perhaps its just that no one likes us. _________________ Don't go in the water after lunch. You'll get a cramp and drown. - Mother. |

Hi Jim. It's Monday, people are off to work and sometimes they can view but don't have time to respond, or they use their mobile phones (I do that a lot). You have to be patient.
There have been a number of threads which compared those models. You can do a search and I'm sure you'll find extensive commentary. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

I think you're just expecting more out of the forum than you got. I didn't see the original posting, but if you were looking for inexpensive lap steels, the Rogue Jersey Lightning is one of the better ones available for under $200. I also like the Rondo SX series.
Do a search on the forum for many discussions of these and other models. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

Thanks for the replies guys. I did a lot of searching and reading after posting...(wrong order I know). After reading all the material, it seemed the lightning was the winner in the end although I was really leaning toward the RLS-1. Finding a $30 coupon code also helped the decision, as I like the red color better than the other options. If anyone else is interested they can pm me for the code...drops the price from $199 to $169 which is only $10 more than the other colors. And btw, Mike and Brad, thanks to both of you guys for fantastic websites, I've spent a good bit of time on both of them. |

Thanks Doug, your video on youtube was a major factor in my choosing the lightning. I plan to re-string it and tune to c6. |

I looked at your first post, but I couldn't think of much to say except "Most people with a Rogue are looking for a vintage Gibson, instead of vice-versa." Or something like that, which didn't really address the issue. |

David...yeah I thought about that myself, however most of my reasons for wanting the new guitar have to do with the sentimental value of the Gibson. I also have some more structural repairs to do on the Gibson. |
