A local guy has a Chandler RH2 Lap Steel Guitar like new for $300.00 - could find much on Goggle as they don't offer them any more - Is it a good deal?

Sounds like an okay price, Dennis. Do a search on here for Chandlers in the for sale section.

They have generally been running 250-350. The older ones have a hard shell case included. The later models all had a gig bag. I had one for awhile. Liked it pretty well.... pup sounds good.

Hi, I have never played a Chandler. In the 250-300 us should be albe to get an old Supro or Ohau with the string thru pickup and those pickups sound great in MHO. Check Guitar Center Vintage or Ebay.

$300 is in the right neighborhood. If it comes with the Tolex hard case it is definitely worth it. I've been playing mine for about 5 years and I really like it. It depends on what sound you want. I find it good for more country and swing sounds. It's true that if you want to shop around you can get a vintage steel for the price, but the Chandler is very dependable and solid. It depends on what you're shopping for. If you are in the position to make a counter-offer of $250, that might be just the ticket!

After playing many, many different laps, it's a ditto from me that the Chandler shines for Swing and cleaner styles, country, etc. My best bet would be for C6 tuning. Very comfortable to play and nice look. I'd look elsewhere for a Rock or Blues machine, but that's just me. I like the Chandler, and the hard case is really nice.

IIRC, the Chandler RH2 has a P90 or a CC in it and my guess is that it would smoke on some blues.
