I've seen some really pretty two-tone round front Sho-Buds, with blond tops, but I do not recall ever seeing one on a later square top. Anyone have one? Pics? John Billings tells me there were two-tones with a very early model that was square-front.

Well the square front Sho~bud's came out mid-70's with the inception of "The Pro~II Custom"; and I have seen a LOT of Sho~buds and I never saw a two-toned square front other than a refinish like the one Skip pictured..
Kinda weird that Shobud was truly a custom built Steel; that there wasn't this type finish ordered...especially when Paul Franklin Sr. was there and that is all he did was special paint orders...

The square fronts were built during the Gretsch era, weren`t they?
Sho-Bud was a high volume builder then, relatively speaking.
Maybe they didn`t have time for custom jobs?
Just guessing...

Well guys,,,, there are "squarefronts" and there are "squarefronts." The first "squarefront cabs were for Perms and Fingertips. Those are the ones I was referring about to Doug . I don't see any reason a new model squarefront can't be two-toned, just like the first, old Squarefronts.
