I commissioned this guitar from Victor Baker last year. While it's a superbly-built instrument, I've never been able to bond with it. After lengthy consideration, I've decided to put it up for sale.

The guitar has a 14" wide body built of laminated maple. It's thin (1.75" at the rim) and has a partial center block under the bridge to reduce feedback. The neck is a single piece of flamed maple with a rosewood fingerboard, small frets and a 25" scale. The bridge, tailpiece, knobs and truss rod cover are all rosewood. The guitar has chrome hardware including Gotoh Delta tuners. The entire guitar is finished in a deep green burst that shows off the flamed maple underneath. It's fairly light - 5.2 lbs.

The pickups are Vintage Vibe HCCs, sonic clones of Charlie Christian pickups. They come with sets of alnico II and alnico V magnets, which are easily interchangeable without any soldering necessary. They fit standard humbucker routes, so if they're not your cup of tea, you can replace them with just about anything you want.

The guitar is in mint condition -there is absolutely no wear on it whatsoever. My asking price is shipped in the US. I will also ship outside the US, but contact me for the shipping cost.

I will consider trades as well, but there's nothing in particular that I'm looking for. I do have an affinity for vintage Guild electrics, and I might be tempted by a nice round-neck spider-cone resonator. I'd also trade towards a Rickenbacker 381 6-string, and throw in some cash as needed. I'm mainly interested in oddball vintage guitars, amps, steels and mandolins, and possibly even old analog or electromechanical keyboards. In short, if you can find it in Guitar Center, I'm probably not interested - though I will give every offer due consideration.

Here are a couple of quick clips I threw together. The guitar has nickel-wound .10s on it, and I'm playing through a Music Man RD50. Aside from some light compression, there were no effects, EQ or other touchup.

Wow, was this an eye-opener on a sleepy Sunday morning! Absolutely gorgeous.

Victor Baker is one of the new hot luthiers in the archtop world, with (last I heard) a 6 - 8 month waiting list. I've had one of these Vintage Vibe CC pickups on my Tom Painter archtop, and they are wonderfully clear and warm.

What a terrific guitar. If I weren't taking delivery of a Schaefer archtop this week, I'd be speeding along I-84 right now on the way to Noah's. Good luck with the sale.

I'd wish I could buy it from you, not that I need another guitar to trip over, but just as a REWARD to you for posting audio clips that actually let us hear the guitar. Don't you even own a death metal fuzzbox? That and three greasy AC/DC licks are pretty much required for any and all YooHoob "demos" and "tutorials."

Love the sound of the neck pickup and middle. Sweet axe.
