How many of you use BIAB for some or all of the backing tracks on your recordings?

Pro Tools is kinda on the expensive side, does Reaper compare kindly or not at all?

Thank you in advance for your replies, deeply appreciated.

I am not that familiar with Reaper, but there are some earlier versions of Pro Tools on net that can be picked up for a reasonable amount.

If you have the need for a lot of midi in your tracks you may want to consider Sonar. There are several levels of the program I believe.

Hope Jack Stoner will see this and chime in. He is very happy with Sonar and knows the program quite well.

...I think at this point I'm going to go with the Tascam US-1800 and the Cubase LE that comes with it. Recording Church songs/hymns shouldn't need that much "horsepower".

I use Reaper, it's a very advanced program, way more than I need to use. I'd recommend it. You can try it before you decide to buy. I bought a Zoom recorder that came with Cubase Le. The program was useless, I could not load it on the computer. To install, you have to got through all kinds of security measures. I tried to follow them, but in the end, I was not able to use the program. Go with Reaper.
