Hi there I was wondering if many players here play like this (thumbpuck and fingertips flesh-not nails).
And if so, can you please share some of your reasoning and techniques you use (dampening, picking patterns etc).
Thanks ahead,
Cheers,
Joel

I do this on occasion. Usually at a dark gig when I have removed my picks and can't tell which pick is which (I use gauged Dunlops, .0225 on index, .018 on middle) before playing.
I end up putting a "snap" into the release of the string, so that any change to the tone is minimal.
I still sound a lot like me.
