Another thread with a link to Christie's auction house led me to this interesting site, where Richard Gere (and G.E.Smith) talk about his substantial guitar collection, which was auctioned off a few years ago. Kinda interesting to watch the videos of him talking about them....

@ 6:50 in the video G.E. Smith plays John D'Angelico's personal guitar (the guitar in the photos hanging in his shop) Well worth listening to:
