I'll be sitting in with the band Warm-Hearted Country at the NJ Folk Festival this coming Saturday, April 29. It's being held on the campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. We do a set at 12:45pm and then at 5:30pm, I'll be giving a steel guitar "workshop", which I think will really be more like a "demo". We'll play a few steel instrumentals, talk about the instrument and get into the raging debate over Just Intonation versus Whateveritisyoucallthealternative Tuning. ("Just Kidding") Actually, we'll probably end up talking about Robert Randolph!

Anyway, hope to see some Forumites along the way. A link to the schedule is posted below.

Cheerz,

Hi Jim, Just so happens I'm going to be in New Brunswick this week. I'm a little confused as to what time your workshop is taking place and if it is at a different location on the complex. Perhaps you can enlighten me. thanx jc

Hey, John. I look forward to meeting you. Lucky coincidence you'll be in town that day. What brings you to the area?

The band, "Warm Hearted Country", is playing at 12:45pm at the Shore Stage, and the pedal steel workshop/demo is at 5:30pm at the Pinelands Stage. I guess I'll have a few hours to figure out how to get from one stage to the other, and move my gear!

I'll keep an eye out forya.

Cheers,
Jimbeaux

Hi Jim, I'm just checking up on my folks, they live in East Brunswick. I will definitely be there for the 5:30 workshop and maybe for the earlier one as well if I can slip away. I'll be sure to say Hi. jc

Hey Jim, "Well Hello dolly....."

If you should ever get a venue in N. California or the Reno/Tahoe area.... I'll be there, early! Have a great gig.

Joe, it was my pleasure to join you and Warm Hearted Country for this great day in the sun. You guys have a terrific sound and it was my privilege to contribute. As the Bee Gees wrote: "Nobody gets too much heaven anymore..."

Take good care and keep up that fine dobro playin'!

And, John, it was a pleasure to meet you at the steel workshop (though I'm sure you didn't learn anything).
