Hello guys,
I am planning to build two speaker cabinets for my rack system. They are supposed to be loaded with one Jensen NEO 12" each.
Any suggestion about cabinet size?

Choose typical cabinet dimensions from cabinets you like, then follow these rules: 1. None of the cabinet dimensions (Length, Width, Height) should be exactly the same. 2. None of the dimensions should be multiples (2X, 3X) of another. 3. Use at least 3/4" (or 20mm) wood. 4. Do not use "particle" wood, only solid wood or plywood.

There is plenty of cabinet information on the 'Web. Good Luck!

I built open back cabs for 12's. Figures for a nice ample size, about 16" Hi, 18" wide and say, 11 3/4", or the width of a 1X12 pine board with possibly a couple inches narrower at the top to give you a nice degree of upward speaker angle. I agree on the 3/4" dimension material thickness as anything smaller is sometimes not sturdy enough. Birch plywood or solid pine boards make nice boxes.

If you are considering a closed back ported design, size is a little more important, but it's still not critical for musical instrument use.

I also built closed back ported kick back style cabs based very, very loosely on Thiele/Small data.

Here's one volume calculator like Glenn alludes to clickhere and there is much more info online but don't get too wrapped up in it. It can all be very confusing but just use common sense and keep things simple.

May I suggest Londonpower´s detuned speakers. They have a booklet on it.

I have built one and I am very satisfied.
