Does anybody know how to get the tracks from a Roland JS-5 jam station, converted down to a computer file MP3. It has MIDI OUT... Thanks.

MIDI ain't audio... think piano roll. You'll have to record the audio, then rip it to MP3. This is not hard to do... start with a computer audio recorder application.

I just looked over the manual for that thing. The manual isn't a wealth of information, but it does provide a few clues on what's possible.

I don't think you'll need to be concerned about the midi connectors - as already mentioned, midi's not audio, and audio's what you want. There are 1/4" audio output jacks on the rear. The manual says there's no built-in amp, so the jacks are probably line level outputs.

What I'd try would be to plug into the two 1/4" audio outputs on the JS-5 and into the 3.5mm audio in jack on your computer sound card or wherever it is on your system. There are lots of cables and adapters available, but this one would do it.

Then, use whatever software you have to see if you have recordable audio out of the device. Most Windows OSes have a sound recorder of some sort, and there are lots of things on the internet that are downloadable.

Once you have things recorded, and they may be .wav files initially, then you can find something software-wise to convert them to .mp3.
