What makes the Peterson Strob Plus HD better than any of the other strob tuners? As far as tuning aren't they all the same. Any Peterson that has the presets is all the same. |

More presets, more stable and larger readout. Also can be programmed via your computer. Also the factory presets seem to be a bit better. |

Another +1 for the new Peterson HD.
I've had other Peterson's and the Sonic Research ST122a but the new Peterson has the most stable display. I also like the computer programming rather than having to input it manually.
The new HD also allows different settings for the same note. e.g. A4 can have one setting, A3 a different setting, etc. That couldn't be done on the older Peterson's, you just had one setting, for example for A, one for B, etc. |

Hi Greg,
I have one of these on order and just now read your excellent review. That information about the micro USB connector length led to me poke around the net a bit where I found one set of dimensions specifying a length of 5.7mm +/- 0.3 mm which is certainly shorter than 0.3" of the HD.
And I enjoyed your playing. Sounds country! I've been tuning straight up. I'm hoping that this gizmo will help me to get closer to that sweet sound

Been using the StroboStomp for quite a few years now, first the I, then the II (only the II has PSG presets). Since I use it for playing six-string, too, it gives me the best of both worlds without having to own two very expensive tuners. Plus, I can intonate my guitars with it. If I played steel exclusively, I'd probably use a Flip or a Pro. However, if one uses a lot of effects pedals on steel (I don't), I could see an advantage to the Stomp II. _________________ Click here for the Index to Mickey Adams's YouTube video lessons

The Plus HD tuner is really a significant upgrade in quality if you are in the market.
Screen in much more stable and clear.
Online editing is nice.. eliminates the tunings not used. _________________ MSA 12 String E9th/B6th Universal.
