There are plenty of his songs on the web but this one, as best I can recall has a unique slant reversal that always eluded me. I wanted to understand it before I get too old to. Any ideas ??

Are you looking for one of the newer versions or the non-pedal original?
Here's a newer version:

Paul, that was one of the first solos Kenny Dail showed me, but it was not a reverse slant. On an eight string C6th tuning(I believe the tune is in C), you do a forward slant on strings 5 at fret 5, string 4 at fret 6, string 2 at fret 7, roll forward thumb, index middle and drop back straight across at fret 5 which takes you into F where the solo starts.
That slant can be a bit imprecise, depending on the string spacing of your guitar. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |
