Ron, is there a six-string version of this? This might be the best looking lap steel I've ever seen. |

Thanks for all the positive comments guys!
That IS your guitar Curt. Glad to hear that it meets your expectations!
It was a unique build with solid Alder body and the Grover tuners. Modern Vintage?
I like the Tonebar pickup also. To me it was closer to the C.G. pickup but more output. What do you think?
Alex. Lots of options available. I dont have a 6 string bridge made up but it can be done. A couple electric guitar style bridge options are also possible. _________________ RAM Guitars

I have the chambered body with the Vintage Vibe CC.....it's a very sweet sounding guitar! I'm hoping to put together a video soon demo'ing the guitar. Maybe I could have something done this weekend. If so, I'll post it. |

A solid body is going to have more sustain vs. a body made of the same wood that is hollowed which will resonate differently.
If you play a chambered lapsteel unamplified it will resonate and pronounce the tones more than a solid body but the strings vibrations will not sustain as long as in a solid body. That character can also be heard a bit when amplified.
I dont have audio or video of a side by side comparison yet but customer who wanted a more "open", "warm", "woody" tone from the body ordered a chambered body. The early Gibsons were very hollow on the inside. Some customers like the way that a particular solid wood type effected the tone of the guitar and wanted increased sustain so they ordered it with as little wood as possible removed.
Type of wood will also affect the tone of the guitar(in addition to the pickup and amplifier setting). I offer Swamp Ash, Alder, Maple and Mahogany. All sound a little different. Warm to Bright..Mahogany,Alder,Ash,Maple.
Both CC pickups were designed with the old Gibson CC pickup in mind. Although they are designed differently than the original pickup they are professionally made Charlie Christians. Low resistance, Less high end but great warm vintage steel tone. The Console pickup is evenly balanced, very clear and has a bit more output. _________________ RAM Guitars

Ron, do you recommend one PU over the other in terms of nice, strong low end and/or overall boo wah effect? |

All the pickups we offer sound great in their own way.
The CC's are designed and wound to vintage specs with deep tone and rounded top end.
The Console is an exact copy of the original pickup and has a full midrange, clear tone and punchy attack.
The ToneBar is a modern hi-fidelity pickup with great clarity and note separation.
Since a boo-wah effect is something that can be adjusted and a matter of personal taste, we can talk about what kind of tone pot/capacitor you prefer when you place the order. I hope that the descriptions help you with your choice of pickup.

Ron, that does help. Kinda. Now I want to try all of them. When I choose one are the others easy to swap in? |

Because of shape of the pickups and the design of the guitar for each they are not interchangeable. _________________ RAM Guitars
