The steel has a very small part of this song but I like this kind of music. Thanks for posting. I don't think this qualifies as Hip Hop although. But I'm no expert. It is R&B though with almost a country rhythm. The singing is that currently popular, soulful blend of Aretha, Stevie, Whitney and Marya that so many young artists, especially female vocalists, seem to strive for now. Thats ok with me. That style of singing can be a beautifully creative, almost jazz like, improvisational art form.
I'm happy to see steel guitar being given a chance in this genre. Don
