I was messing around with this today for a little while and it made me feel good. This one came together real quick, too--within 10 minutes or so this is what I had. I started learning the Amos Garrett solo on steel, but that's for another day. I love chords!

Here's the full version I recorded with the solo:

I modded my C6 tuning by lowering strings 7 and 8 to F and D, the strings that will be on my D-10, so the tuning is

E
C
A
G
E
C
F
D

I forgot to put my picks on, too.

Midnight at the Oasis

Very nice version of that Mike.

One of the first concerts I went to, Maria Muldaur was the opening act IIRC for Stephen Stills at the Academy of Music in Philly....back in the mid-70s. Great voice and easy on the eyes.

Cool...the B section sits nicely in that tuning. Is that a Major 9 chord preceding the chorus melody each time?

I just finished recording a full version, including a note-for-note (or as close as I could get) version of the solo. I'm pretty happy that I was able to get even close!

Hope you enjoy:

Sounds good, Mike. This tune takes me back to my college daze! You did a good job copping Amos Garrett's solo, with the descending riffs that seem to cascade off a cliff. Cool stuff. Thanks for the memories!

True, my young guitar students see pictures of me from the 1970s and 80s in the teaching studio and they ask "is that you?" Shocked It's a harsh dose of reality.
