My Goldtone 8 string bridge has pulled up due to
string tension. There are two small wood screws that
hold the bridge down. The holes are stripped and
slightly elongated.
What would be the best repair solution?
I was thinking some wood putty in the holes and
then maybe some epoxy before replacing the screws?
Alternatively, there might be enough room on the
bridge to drill two more holes so that it could be
held down with four screws instead of two.
Thanks for your assistance and suggestions.

The same thing happened to me. It was shipped with very heavy strings and I pulled the bridge too.
Easy fix. Drill the screw holes in the aluminum bridge larger and install thicker screws. No more problem.

It's a design flaw. Nothing like that has ever happened to any instrument I've designed, but even longtime builders often overlook vector forces. Crying or Very sad
