Don´t know the gentlemen, but would like to look at what he offers. You can hardly see the stand on the pictures above.

http://www.deluxe34.com is his website. He makes great stands at a very reasonable price considering the work that goes into them. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

I'm the biggest fan of Mark's stands. The one I have really increases the sustain of my instrument and enriches the tone. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links

I dont have good enough ear to tell the difference in tone but the difference in playability is huge, I now can use my volume pedal and play stand up. This stand is so well made and solid that I believe you that it can help the sustain and tone. |

Hey, it is really something to see so many cool steels on a stand. Jean-Sebastians was a new one for me. That is a nice looking steel.
Ricks was a challenge because of its massiveness! It has become a legendary Frypan.
Nice photos, anyone object to me posting them on my site?
Thank you all, hope to see you in Texas in March. I will bring the newest ideas I have come up with there. _________________ www.deluxe34.com lap steel stands, Clinesmith, Gibson Console Grande, Northwesterns, The Best Westerns

Those stands look amazing! They are beautiful, and they appear to be incredibly substantial. I'm not comfortable playing steel on a stand, but if I were, I'd definitely have my steel on one of these stands!

Before reading this thread, I did not know that such a product existed. I always wanted a stable platform for my lap steel guitars but did not want to drill and mount leg sockets on them. I had questions about the Deluxe 34 stand and contacted Mark. He responded right away and answered all my questions. Although pricey, I went with the adjustable lap steel stand since I have several lap steels that I play. I received the stand last night and and tried it out with my few lap steels. The stand holds them rock solid. Couldn't be happier with the stand. Thanks Mark. |

We might want to be careful with the description of "pricey," because we often associate that with a greedy profit. The legs alone would cost you $150, and that's just for three legs. With the bench time involved and custom crafting, I think we'd find that Mark's profits are quite minimal. This is obviously a labor of love for the steel community over making a living from it. I don't point my opinion out to be contrary, but rather to inform those whose interests may have been piqued by this thread. _________________ Al

Two more points: Mark is one of the nicest cats you could ever hope to meet. Don't believe me? Come to the Non-pedal Room in Dallas and find out for yourself.
Second, the materials are top-notch and so is the design and craftsmanship. The bag that it all comes in is made of the most durable material you could ever imagine. And yes, the legs alone are expensive! _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

For what Mark delivers, I'd call it a bargain. Quality legs and the sockets to go with them are not cheap. Not to forget that there is major drilling to properly install the sockets. Add in that one of Marks stands can work for all you steels and I think your way ahead of the game. _________________ Some misc pics of my hand crafted steels

I guess my post came across the wrong way and that's not what I intended. Maybe the word "pricey" was not a good word choice. I apologize for that. I was not trying to associate the word "pricey" with greed. What I was trying to get at is that Mark offered other less expensive options for me but I chose the adjustable option which is a more expensive set up. I didn't mean for my other post to reflect negatively on Mark's prices or product. |

i've found out after hanging in & around different instrument communities, that there is no doubt the steel guitar crowd is the most industrious and creative - trying to make something better, easier, practical etc. Mark's stands are a fine testament to that. These are great designs and fill a big need in the community. _________________ '65 Sho-Bud D-10 Permanent • '54 Fender Dual-8 • Clinesmith T-8 • '38 Ric Bakelite • '92 Emmons D-10 Legrande II |

Big thanks to all of you...it truly is a labor of love, I got into it during my slow time for my business and it has been great fun talking to all the players involved in the steel community. I hope to turn a profit this year as I am getting some production steps fine tuned. Hope to see some of you in Texas _________________ www.deluxe34.com lap steel stands, Clinesmith, Gibson Console Grande, Northwesterns, The Best Westerns
