Partially restored U-14 apparently early 1970’s aka a Sierra pedal steel. Strings 2-11 are pretty much std Emmons E9 setup so that is as far as I have gotten with the parts I have. I have lost interest. I don’t see a serial number nor have the experts shed a lot of light on it. Evidently Chuck Wright built these in the early 70’s in between two incarnations of the Sierra company.

This is a very well made heavy guitar pro quality with really nice tone. Its also ‘rare’. That’s because they didn’t sell too many IMO. 14 strings are a lot.

When I got the guitar it was set up in a 1950’s copedent of some sort and half a dozen rods were cut short and re-threaded. This has prevented me from finishing it. I have some parts on order but rods will need to be made from scratch if you want the original 14 string copedent (see picture). Check marks indicate the current setup EXCEPT the LKL is missing so raising the Es is switched to the RKR. Missing parts: a rod bellcrank on pedal 7, the pivot bellcrank for LKL, nylon barrel nuts, and two grover tuners. All necessary shafts and pullrod bellcranks are there.

This would make a great beginner guitar you can get most of what you need as an S-10 3x3 in a solid pro build, and expand if you want.

The guitar weighs 75# in the case so I will be adding freight. Please drive over and get it.

Cell 262-7oh 5 348 four

I would rather give commission here than to ebay. Steel will be up for offers until auction closes.

Keith, you suggest that it is up for sale on eBay, but I don't see it there. I have been thinking about a Sierra U12 or 14. Maybe this is a challenge I could take on, but I'm not sure how to pitch an offer. Never looked at one in this condition etc before. PM me?

Will
