Hello to all,
I thought I would try and post some pictures of my new Rittenberry--- I had heard good things about Gary Rittenberry and now I know why. I am very happy with my new pedal steel. The workmanship is excellent.
Gary is a great guy to deal with.
This guitar model is a little different than what he usually builds. The body is not quite as wide as a full double body guitar. I like it better--just seems to be the right size to me. This guitar is also very light. Very easy to move! I don't know all of the differences between this one and his regular pedal steels because I have only seen one other before I ordered this one, but there have been some design changes. I think Gary wanted to build a somewhat smaller and lighter guitar that was a little less expensive without sacrificing any quality. I believe he has been successful.
I have owned 3 pedal steels before I had Gary make this one for me, and they were all difficult to keep in tune. In fact, a couple of them just would not tune well because of "cabinet drop" problems. (I had no idea that was the problem at the time but now I do). I have a very accurate peterson strobe now.
The cabinet drop on this Rittenberry is almost non-existent. It tunes well and stays in tune. What a relief!

Hey Dan, Congrads on your new Rittenberry. Your gonna
love it for sure. I have 2 of them, and they are the finest
steels I've ever owned. I love mine and would like another.
Gary makes the best of the best when it comes to steels.

Hey Ken, I guess it's called the "Steelers Choice"
Lots of folks say Black is best, but then some of
us know that Red looks and sounds a lot better.
Norm, that's a beauty you got too. We're all lucky. _________________ aka "Lucky Kay"--Custom built Rittenberry SD10 3X5, Walker S/S, NV-112, and Hilton Pedal |

Hello everyone in pedal steel land. My name is Daryl and am 60 years old and have been playing 6 string guitars most of my life but all ways loved the sound of the steel guitar. A few weeks ago I got on the internet and started to listen and read about who was doing what. I really liked the Rittenberry sound so I send Gary off an e-mail and we started to talk. Well at that time he did not have any guitars available and it would be a year before I could get mine through Gary. We kept talking and a couple of nights before Gary was to go down to the Texas Jamboree I got a call from Gary.. One of his guitars just came available and was I interested. I told Gary I would talk it over with my g/f and I would get back to him. Well Gary took off to the Jamboree and took the dark burgandy S 10 with him to put on show at the show. A few of you guys did see it and played on it. Well I wanted that guitar so bad I called Gary on his cell phone and bought the guitar over the phone while he was in Texarkana eating supper. Now that's customer service. So when Gary got to the Jamboree and got set up he sent me an invoice and I sent him back my pal pal money. For the guys that saw this guitar and wanted to buy it at the show, sorry I bought it before it even got there. Well it came tonight, my, my,my. What a piece of art. Perfect in ever degree. I am new at steel guitar and my slide bars have not arrived yet, or my tuner, or my Goodrich Volume Pedal. So this beautiful piece of art ( called the Ritt Steel Guitar) sits in my living room and I just can't believe I got a Ritt.. It is so beautiful in every way. The thing that sold me about this guitar is yes, it sounded really good, it was Gary that went the extra mile for me did all he could so that I could get this guitar. He is a good ol boy and a man of his word and makes one heck of a guitar. Sorry I do not have a camera to take pictures but I will in a few days and will post them. I wanted the best for my new Ritt so I went out and ordered The Stereo Steel Combo Amp and T C Electronic M-One XL effects processor from GD Walker. Will get his speakers in the near future. So I hope I now can join the Ritt Club, can't play but ready to jump in. One more thing...Gary ....many many thanks, you made this 60 year old silver haired muscian a very very happy man. Tips hat and smiles...Daryl |
