Hello.
Thankyou so much for your nice feedback,I really appreciate it! Hopefully soon there will be a couple of originals ready for you.All the songs I have "recorded" the past few months are standards that I am sure everybody are playing, and even much better then me as well,I just wanted to record them so I have them for my own records, fingers are not in the best shape,so don`t know how much longer I can play.It may still, and hopefully be for a long time, but you never know.Anyway,it is always nice to come up with original songs, and to try on some stuff you don`t hear very often,so there are hopefully more to come for those who cares, and will take a look.I don`t play live that much anymore,so this is a way to keep it up,and still have some fun with the music.I love to take a look at the stuff being posted here, and there are so many nice things to see and listen too,so it is hard to keep up with what I have looked into or not.
Keep in touch, and if you like what I am doing,it is always nice to hear from you.Makes me feel good in these cold Norwegian winter days!
All the best from Egil.

Another Fine Job Egil. Great Picking, and Great Tone. What else could you ask for? It is very obvious that you love what you are doing, and I Pray that God will grant you Many More Years to enjoy it. I like your idea of putting some stuff together, to keep, and listen to when you quit. I've been thinking along those same lines, as I know I don't have many more good years. Age is catching up Fast. Happy picking, and I'll be looking forward to your next offering...

But there are no 64th-note triplets! Or anguished-yet-soulful constipation faces! How are we supposed to know if it's any good? Devil

That's very nice, no overplaying or gimmicks - perhaps you're a practitioner of the notion: If you can't make one note sound great, 300 of 'em aren't gonna sound any better.... Laughing

I'm curious about the rest of your "band", and what just you and the keyboard might sound like, without a machine locking up the timing. I'm starting to sneak up on some recording myself, and I'm very interested in the process - what do you record first, and are the drums a program?

Hello David.
Sorry for the late reply, but the week has been quite busy. Thanks alot for your feedback, and nice words.I agree with you on all parts! I know where my weak parts are,so I try to play things that I feel I can play straight, and not too bad.I have never got a ticket for speedpicking,so I try to find songs that are in the slow to medium range.Working on some faster stuff now,so will see what that can bring out!
When it comes to recording/taping this stuff,it is done as simple as it can get.I bought some backing tracks CD`s,some of the John Hughey songs, the Tom Brumleys, and a series from Joe Turner. It is not like playing with a real band, the tempo is the same all the way,no retard at the end and so on.I also don`t run the tracks,or the steel via a mixer, but put the camera on a stand in the room, put the tracks in my stereo, and play along, trying to find the balance between the stereo and the amp.So what you hear is whats in the room.
I don`t know if you have seen the other videoes on youtube, but my wife thinks it is boring seeing only me play,so on some of them she have added some pictures, looks nice as I see it,and hope others like it as well.
Thanks for chiming in to all of you,I really appreciate it!
Back to the steel to play some more, and try to get my speed up a little!
Best from Egil.
