A genuine collectors piece.. 1963 vintage. Serial number 267

Guaranteed NOT to suffer from the dreaded "Cabinet Drop".. the Aluminium/Magnesium frame prevents that occurring.

The more desirable of the Fender cable operated steel guitars, its double raise and double lower is ULTRA quite because of the cable system.

Comes complete with parts to add knee levers.

The chromework is pristine- rust free and the clutches on ALL the legs work correctly.

I intended using it at home as a second E9th guitar but I have FAR too many guitars and am now winding down my work-rate..

This lady is 50 years old this summer...

FENDER 800 10-STRING PEDAL STEEL GUITAR
Cam-action individually movable bridges and roller nuts highlight the Fender 800 single neck a pedal steel guitar. Tunings and special effects not possible with 8-string models are achieved with these fine instruments...fuller chords, more complete chord progressions, greater tuning accuracy.
Tuning assembly mechanisms allow the musician to double flat or double sharp each string. Cables connecting the pedals to the string pulling levers can be changed rapidly and a complete new set-up can be made by simply lifting clips from levers and slipping them onto new ones desired for different tuning or chord arrangements. Special advanced design Fender pickup produces outstanding tone response.
The Pedal 800 employs six pedals.
Fender's adjustable string mute is featured, enabling the musician to achieve unique new effects. The Pedal 800 contains a volume and tone control. String length is 23 inches.
The heavy white ash guitar body is set in a three-inch deep al-mag frame,a combination aluminum magnesium alloy, insuring a high degree of rigidity so no detuning is experienced when the pedals are operated. Finished in Shaded Sunburst.
The 800 is packed in a single case, It can be unpacked, assembled and ready to play in less than three minutes.

Price....£650. or €763. or $1027.

Yes Jerry It's superb, the chromework is like new and the sound is SO good I' really don't want to part with it but needs must, and I have far too many guitars for a 70 year old almost retired ex player..
Mid Atlantic would definitely be somewhat problematical..We have a "Stargate" over here in Tamworth but we don't have the gate address for Florida..YET..

Hi Basilh,

Here in Holland there is a fellow steeler who,on the Dutch Steel Forum, just asked us all to look out for a Fender 400. The reason is that he became handicaped, Had to sell his Sho-Bud and he thought that he could rebuild a Fender cablemodel into a lefthanded guitar, besides that he loved their sound. Looks like you have got the guitar for him.
I just mailed him!.Please hold on to it.
BTW, what a beauty!

Bas (that is Dutch for Sebastian, but must sound familiar to you)

WOW that is STUPID clean.. Case like new, guitar like new, even the damn original foam mute pad is like new.. They simply don't exist in this pristine condition.. And at just over a grand??... When people are getting almost that much for a wallpaper covered Maverick???.. If I didn't already have an 800. this one would be mine... I'm telling you guys, these things are as smooth playing as many modern guitars, and better than most made in their day... What a beautiful steel you have there Basil... bob
