The year 1955 was a big transition year... without pictures we still don't really know what you have. Normally I'd say a Studio Deluxe would be a six-string, two-pickup, Stringmaster-like device... but you might have a trapezoidal pickup with lollipop tuners or who knows what.

One thing's for sure... you'll always be able to sell it for at least as much (or probably more) than you paid for it. Also, if it is in working condition, you've got a great guitar that will give long years of service.
