Just wondering if anybody has tried a Quilter amp? And if so, what did you think of it? |

For what it's worth, Albert Lee was using one last Friday night with an extension cab with a couple 12" speakers. I was standing right next to it and it was plenty loud, and clean, although I couldn't say if it would work as well with a steel. |

I had occasion to play one for a few hours last year, and I agree that it had a very warm tone, especially for a solid state amp. (Disclaimer: I was playing several archtop guitars through it rather than steel.) Quilter also has a very favorable return policy -- I was unable for other reasons to keep the one I tried (combo with the ten inch speaker), they cheerfully and quickly arranged for shipping back to them and a full refund. This one is definitely on my list of amps to (re-)acquire in the near future. |
