Well I just was talking with my hero and friend, Curtis Potter, who is recovering from bypass surgery as many of you have read about on the forum. Curtis said he will be in Dallas and he is going to sing on my set on Friday night. As I've said many times, Curtis is my personal favorite singer of all time and this is always an honor and treat for me to get to work with him. If you are going to be at the Dallas show, try to catch Curtis Potter, not to hear me, but to hear his tremendous vocals.
Also, for what it's worth, I have played the Dallas show every year since it started in 1985 and it is always one of the highlights of each year for me,getting to work with the great Texas musicians and singers.

And we love to have you, Herby. Keep on coming! I be in the front row. Happy too, that Curtis is well enough to perform. It will be a great set.

Herby is one of the best and has been a supporter of the TSGA from the git-go. Curtis has been through some health issues lately but I have no doubt he will rise to the super occasion of getting to perform with Bro. Wallace. I will be sitting at ringside for this one, make no mistake about that!
Curtis on Friday, Johnny Bush on Saturday, great steel players all the rest of the time. Just another weekend in Texas.

Herby, I look forward to your show every year in Dallas. This will be #7 for me, if I am counting right. What a treat hearing both Curtis and yourself together! Take care and see you both Friday. |

Herby - I always look forward to your set. Always great playing and a fine selection of tunes. To get to hear Curtis sing with you will truly make it outstanding.
I don't know if you recall, but a few years ago at the Dallas convention you were sitting with your family in the restaurant and my wife came up and complimented you on your playing and told you that one of the songs you played made her cry. I can't recall which ballad it was, but you knew it was high praise.
I used to play in a band with the terrific piano player Reese Wynans. I asked him why he didn't play more boogie woogie. He said the boogie woogie makes the girls dance, but the slow and pretty ones make them cry. The good kind of cry. Smart feller.
See you in Dallas
